Description

The Release Engineer will be responsible for working with on premise and off premise developers within an Agile framework while implementing automated release solutions, managing release plans, and optimizing our production and testing environments. The purpose of this position is to champion collaboration between development, IT Operations, Architecture, QA, UI/UX, and the project managers to ensure smooth deployments to the various testing and production environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or similar field of study required.
  • Experience in 24x7 production operations, preferably supporting a highly available environment
  • Knowledge of cloud-based infrastructure environments (e.g., AWS, Azure)
  • Familiarity and experience using Containerization tools like Vagrant or Docker
  • Familiarity and experience using Configuration Management tools like Puppet, Chef, etc.
  • 3+ years experience in release automation, system administration, system configuration, and system debugging
  • Knowledge of automated code review and post-deployment testing tools
  • Knowledge of SQL Server deployment (including DDL, DML, and stored procedures/functions)
  • Knowledge of deployment workflow tools (e.g., Octopus Deploy, Atlassian, etc.)
  • Ability to operate in an agile and dynamic environment
  • Familiar with persistence technology like NHibernate or Entity Framework
